The Catholics of Wellington Lave decided to present the following address to Bishop Moran :— '* We, the Catholic laity of the city of Wellington and surrounding districts, have watehad with pleasure the untiring efforts you have made in the interest of Christian educa* tion. We also view with satisfaction the college and convent schools which you have established since your arrival in this country; we admire the candour, the courage, and the ability which you have always displayed in the pulpit, in the Press, and above all in your recent action in advocating our claims before the South JJunediu electors; we thank God, who takes an account of small as well as great thiDgs, that He has raised you up to defend us and preside over a portion of His Church in this land. obtain an fquitable adjustment of our claims on the Government of this colony in regard to the education system."
