Yesterday. At the Supreme Court, John Meiklejohn a Harorata farmer, was sentenced, on two indictments, to eight years penal servitude for stealing sheep from Sir John Hall and Mr Cordy, station owners. On Monday the special jury libel case against G. G. Stead by John Paxton, a former clerk in his office, will be heard.
