The charge against James Crowley of murdering his wife with a box iron is proceeding in the Supreme Court, it will probably occupy the whole day.
The following, are the acceptances for the Takapuna races:—Takapuua Handi* cap, 150 soys: Libeller, Merlin, Fish" woman, Lonehand, Maori, Nigger, Gilderoy, and Nettle. Steeplechase: Mount, Harkaway, St. Swithin, Tricotrin, Chandler, Cob, and Chanticleer.
It is expected that 80 clergymen and lay representatives will attend the Wes~ leyan Conference, which opens next week.
A waterman named William Fitzsimmons was found drowned in the harbour today; he had evidently been in the water only 24 hours.
