The annual Conferences of both Wes* leyan and Methodist Churches commences at Auckland next week. About SO are expected to attend the former, and 25 the latter.

The barque Acacia arrived yesterday, with a cargo of freestone for the facing of the new portion of the Bank of New Zealand. The stone is similar to that •qeed iv the froat portion of the building.

The stone has been brought from Spring Bay, Hobart, and has the character of being the finest freestone in Australasia.
