The following races were run at too late an hour to enable us to get the result in last night's issue :—

(McGee) ... 2 Only these two horses started, all the others having been scratched. After two or three attempts a fair start was effected. Band wick took the lead and held it for the first round, though it was evident that Luckpenny was not allowed to put on his best pa^3. Three quarters of a mile from home Luckpenny began to creep up, and in a quarter of a mile had collared .Randwick. They raced neck and neck till within 200 yards from the post, when Luckpenny, with a good spurt, placed two lengths between him and his opponent, and kept his position to the finish. Totalisator: 314 investors—lol on the winner. Dividend, £1 7s.

Taylor) ... ... 3 Mr Quinlivan's b g Derby, Bst 31bs (E. Quinlivan) ... ... ... ... 0 Champagne and Derby led off, Evening Star and Barney being in the rear. This order was maintained for half a mile, when Champagne drew ahead and Derby fell to the rear, Evening dtar taking his place. A good race then ensued, Evening Star gaining considerably on Champagne, but in the straight the latter spurted ahead, winning by about four lengths. The winner was sold at auction by Mr McGregor immediately after the race, and knocked, down Co Mr Weston, bookmaker, at £40—£10 above the upset price, which sum, therefore, accrues to the funds of the Club. Totalisator: 179 investors— 75 on the winner; dividend, 21s. Consolation [Race of 20sovs; distance,
once round the course. This was a walk-over for Randwick, the other horse entered, Nigger, not coming to the post.
The protest lodged with the stewards of the Thames Jockey Club agahst Libeller was heard and evidence taken last night, with the result that the award to Libeller was confirmed. The protest against Luckpenny was withdrawn. The stakes will be paid over to the winners at the Governor Bowen Hotel this evening. ... ,
