Maori Marriage.
A large number of influential citizen! proceeded to the Parawai Maori Church this morning in order to witness the celebration of the nuptials of Hone Werabiko the celebrated Te Aroha prospector, with Mi Mera, daughter of Haora te Mimiha. Among those present at the ceremony
were: Messrs Sheehan M.H.8., Murdoch, J. Wilson, C. H. Wilson, S. Turtle, M. Hennelly, A. Brodie (County Chairman), Mcllhone, A. B. Cameron, G. N. Brassey, Comer, Bagott, Scott, and Melhose. The bride (who was tastefully attiredin pale blue silk) was led to the altar by her father, Haora te Mimiha, and the service was conducted by the Native missionary, the Rev. Wiremu Tirupoonu. After the service was concluded the bridal partj drove to the Queen's hotel, Grahamstown, where a most excellent breakfast had been provided by the well known caterer Mr Matthew Vaughan, the genial host of this well known hostelry.
At the banquet Mr McDonald Scott occupied the chair, and Mr G. N. Brassey the vice-chair. After the excellent repast had been discussed the usual local and patriotic toasts were proposed and duly honoured.
