The Hon E. Richardson addressed the electors of Lyttelton last night, and met with a very favorable reception. At the dose of the speech he received a voto of thanks.
Thursday. J. T. Fisher stands for his old constituency at Heathcote. 1 here is not much life about the Christchurch elections. Jno. Anderson, a well known iron founder, has consented to stand for the southern district. S. P. Andrews is up for the northern constituency. H. To:>mer is the only candidate for Stan more, and for St. Albans, J. Evans Brown has been mentioned. C. Clark, a well known auc tioneer, is said to be coming forward for Christchurch South. For Sydenham, J. W. Treadwellis the only candidate, so far. Mr Montgomery and the. Hon. Mr liolleston both stand for their old constituencies, unopposed so far W. F. Pear son for Ashley; W. C. Fendall for Cheviot. Isaac Wilson and J. H. Lee contest Kaiapoi; and for Lyttelton there are three rivals—the Hop Mr Jiichardson, Mr Allwright, and S. JK. Webb. ..The Premier goes to his old constituency at Selwyn ; and for the new Lincoln district H. W. Perryman is announced. D. McMillan is mentioned for Coleridge. -
