London, August 12, morning.
In the House of Commons last night, the report on the amendments made by the House of Lords in the Irish Land Bill was again under consideration, when a long and animated debate took place on the amended clauses, sev ral of which were rejected as altered, while the amend" ments to others were agreed to.
Some violent speeches were made in the course of the discussion by the Irish members, who accused the Government of acting with treachery, and with pandering to the wishes of the House of Lords. The debate lasted till four o'clock this moruing, when the consideration of the amendment was finally concluded, and the bill was returned to the House of Lords.
London, August 11. Consols have advanced to 100f. Total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England, £13,000,000.
New Zealand securities are unchanged at the following quotations :—Five per cent. 10-40 loan, 105 ; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 104-1; 4| per cent. 1879-1904 loan 101- ex. div.
