The mine manager reports: —No 1 level: The drive has been extended 14. feet during the past week. Gold has been seen every breaking down. On F-iday we obtained 151bs of good picked stone ; this will make 38 feet in which gold has been seen. The reef still maint ins its width and appearance. No. 2 level: I have taken on two extra haads to drive on the brown leader, through the slide, to pick up the .Republic reef. The stoae beaked on Saturday was 6160z5. It is likely the batiery will be in readiness to start on Thursday it there is sufficient water.
