DUNEDIN.
This day. The shop of P. H. Bailey, watchmaker, Cannongate, was totally destroyed by fire last night, owing to its inaccessibility. Mrs Bailey was in the act of turning with a kerosene lamp in her hand, when it exploded. Bailey is insured for £100 in the Norwich Union, and estimates his loss at £300 and above. The house, which belonged to James Smellie, of North Taieri, was insured in the Standard for £200.
