Yesterday,
At the Magistrate's Court to-day, John Beat:field was committed for trial for shooting at John Spring, in Colombo street, with intent to kill. Prisoner made a statement in defence to the effect that Spring had been the means of parting him and his wife, and had prostituted his (prisoner's) children.
