The Presbyterian Assembly met again yesterday, when several reports were handed in, and a Committee appointed to consider them. Deputies from Ofcago and Southland were introduced by the Eev. Mr McNiccol. The Eev. Mr Clarke made reference to the subject of the Union between the Synod of Otago and the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. The Eev. Mr Clark also spoke on the same subject, referring to the action taken in the appointment of a committee to act with the Assembly in consultation as to the possibility of a union being effected with benefit to both churches. The various committees appointed for the Synod were directed te meet today and a public meeting of the members and supporters of the church will be held this eveniDg. Yesterday. It is understood the Premier will accompany the Governor on his Southern tour.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date March :—The wool competition is increasing and the market firmer. The wheat market is firmer, Adelaide and Victoria being worth 51s per 4961b5.
