Match No. 14—Rifle Company's Trophy.
2CO, 500, and 6C3 yards. Seven shots at each range. To be competed for only by company representatives. Entrance fee, £1; to be paid by the corps. CONDITIONS. 1. Any Volunteer corps armed with rifles can nominate a representative ; one only being allowed from auy corps. 2. Representatives must be " efficient" Volunteers for the year ending 31st December, 1880. 3. The whole of the entries to be devoted to the purchase of a trophy—le3s one sixth for expenses. 4. The trophy to be the property of the corps to which the winner belongs. 5. Ties to be decided by firing shot for shot at the 600 yards range. 1' The Rifle Company's Trophy was won by Hoskins, of the Taranaki Rifles, with 69; Paynter was second, with 68; and Purnell, Wauganui, third, with 67.

Ballinger (Wellington), Hutchinson (Dunedin), each 59 ; Sampson (Westland), Webster (Dunedin), each 58 ; Ellis, Nelson, 56; Kensington, Wanganui, -52; Kitchen, Patea, 52.
