GEEAT BRITAIN. It is stated that a .Reform Club raised £270,000 for election purposes. It is reported that the Queen asked Mr Gladstone to propose to Parliament a vote of £40,000 to enable the Prince of Wales to pay his most pressing debts, and the Premier refused. Fifty thousand delegates of all trades are to meet at Glamorganshire to take action with reference to foreign tariffs. Mr Gladstone at the Lord Mayor's banquet, London, said possibly the Government might have to ask increased power in regard to Ireland, but he would not anticipate such a contingency. He said no progress had been made on the Greek question. Cardinal Manning opposes French Jeßuits settling in England. Mr Gladstone refuses to support the scheme for the Euphrates Valley Bailway. - IRELAND. ; Eight thousand rifles were received in Ireland from Italy. The Land Leaguers are tampering with the troops. Mr Gladstone denies that dissension! in the Cabinet have arisen on the Irish question. . Mr Parnell, at a meeting, expressed a conviction that Ireland would obtain organised aid from America if there is any chance of breaking the British yoke.
