WELLINGTON.
A land slip off the face of one of the hills close abutting on to Picton harbor has revealed a 14ft seam of good merchandise brown coal, which on being tested proves to have fair steaming qualities.
A young man, named Jonn Blair, formerly a clerk at Timam, was arrested this morning on a charge of embezzling, £5 15s, monies of Government. He was remanded for a week.
