Last night. 'The Hutt County Gounjil at a Meeting held to-day, decided to take over the work of highway and local boards within the County at the expiration of nine months. Governor Robinson has definitely deli

cided to establish racing stables at McNab's garden at the Lower Hutt, and is now building.

At a public meeting to-night it was decided to form a Wellington and Central Polynesian Shipping Company to trade to Samoa, with a capital of £20,000. However, should less capital bo subscribed the company^ w ill confiue its operations accordingly.
