A cable message states that Hanlon is dangerously ill wilh gastric fever, and fears are. entertained of the result. The Homeward mails via Brindisi, per Orient Company's steamer Aconcagua were deliver^) here to-day.
The cricket match, Australian v. Leicestershire County team, at Leicester, was commenced to-day. The Australian team went in first, and scored 142 runs.
The Home team then went in for their first innings, and when stumps were drawn, had lost 5 wickets for 32 runs* The weather was fine throughout the day> and the attendance of the public at the match was large. The wicket was dead. London, July 13. Obituary: Tom Taylor, editor of Punch.
