BOROUGH FINANCE.
(To tbe Editor of the Evening Stur.)
Sib,—l trust something will be done at the next meeting of the Borough Council about paying their accounts. It is disgraceful that a body should contract debts to the extent this Council hare done, and apparently take no steps towards liquidating them If—as rumor says—the reason is that His Worship is anxious to show an apparent reduction of the Borough indebtedness c' a similar atuouut to that wiped out last year, and does not intend to pay auy accounts until that is done; I trust what few independent Councillors there are left will resolutely oppose such a fcnliih idea. How would it do to summons them ?— Yours truly,
One anxious to pat and he paid. Pollen street, June 16th, 1880.
