This day.
A fire occurred on the premises of Mr H. T. Dench at Port Chalmers on Saturday morning, which totally destroyed the building and furniture, the inmates having, a narrow escape. The insurances were £200 on furniture, and £200 on the building in the Union Office. The loss is estimated at £150. The holder of the mortgage on the property bad another insurance of £600 in the New Zealand.
