(Peu Pbess Association.) - Noumea, April 17. THE LATE HUKRIOANE. The effects of.the recent hurricane are gradually disappearing. The French Government refused to rote compensation to setters who suffered by the recent revolt. The suicides and murders are numerous. A body was found in the harbor with one leg and one arm cut off. Two men and a woman were arrested. Their object for the murder is said to be thai of robbing the man of seventy francs. The shaft of the copper minejs cleared, and work is resumed. The grasshopper pest is causing great loss.
