A sharp shock of earthquake was felt here at 12.45 this afternoon, the direction being north to south. At the Supreme Court this morning the case of Xeckie and others v. McDonald and others, the original Directors of the Wellington Tramway Company. Tfhe action is to set aside the sale of the undertaking of the Company on the aground that the provisional directors of the Company had become personally interested in the undertaking. With the original, the promoter's case will most likely occupy two or, three days. . : This day. Information has been laid against a butcher named Deveraux for setting fire to his house on February 4th. The case will be heard on Friday. The Hativo Commission. Sir D. Bell and Sir W. Fox, Native Commissioners, are here, and will remain a Tew days. It is not known if they intend to take any evidence.
