Last night. The. Souther a Cross is placed for JFiji trade.
Complaints are being made by colliers that the Union Company's vessels convey coals beyond the ordinary requirements, from Eussell to other places and sell.
News has been received here that .a prospectus of the Waikato Land Association has been issued before the departure of the mail to settle the Piakolands, with a capital of £600,000 in £20 shares. The directors are Thomas Russell, Sir James Fergusson, and Mr Mundella. 90,000 acres are to be sold for £300,000, half the capital, to be absorbed in the first purchase of land. The Piako estate'is to be divided into manageable farms. It is expected .that the scheme, will bring half a million of^noney into Auckland. This day. J. 0- Young's Case. J. C. Young's case is adjourned uutil to-morrow, owing to the non-amval of important documents, which are expected j from Tauranga to morrow.
