This day. The nominations of 41 immigrants have been sent by the outgoing mail. The Jury found no bills against Thomas Winton for' rape, Mitchell and Bees for horse stealing, and. Craig, for manslaughter as engineer of the City tramways. Sentences: Betman, stabbing, 12 months; Loughlan, burglary, two years ; and Fell, forgery, twelve months. Judge Williams decided he cannot try Milton, charged with embezzelment, as he is a life member of the Athenaum, so the case will be heard in Christchurch.
