[Br Telegbaph.] (fbox a correspondent; 1. Wellington, This day. A deputation, consisting of the Mayor, Mr Brodie, Mr Shcehan and others, waited again upon Mr Whitaker this morning. In reply he says there is no intention on tho part of the Government to stop the railway; it is a question of money nlone. Three millions of the loan will be floated, on the condition that the balance is not placed on the market for 15 months, and no other loan for two years aftcrnards. The railway bridge at Hamilton will be ordered from Home. The telegraph line to the Waikato via Ohinemnri, the construction of a road on the same route—alto from Cambridge to Kotorua—and the completion of the jroad to Tauranfca will be gone on with if there is money at command; He (Whitaker) will Bee that the district suffers only in the same proportion as the rest of the colony from the shortness of funds. The Mayor leaves by the Rotorua, he baring placed nil his business before Government. " ."• : •"."','•'..'*.
