Last night. The charge of rape against the Hospital steward comes on for hearing again this morning. The Bench considered a prima Jacie case, had been made out against the prisoner. The Magistrate said the Justices sitting with him were doubtful if a more serious charge of rape could be sustained, but were unanimous in com* mitting him for trial on the lesser offence of indecent assault; bail being allowed-— prisoner in £500 and two sureties of £250 each.
