Last night.
Heavy rains were experienced throughout the district, and this morning the downpour lasted about three hours;- ' The crops are in excellent condition, and in some parts the barley is all in. Commercial advices notify an expected rise of prices consequent on the infliction of the new tariff. •
The High School building will be campleted in about three weeks. The regatta is meeting with general favor, and the subscriptions' committee have been very successful.
