The total entries for the Metropolitan show are 1130, being 108 in excass of last year. • Great preparations are being made by members of thb Catholic Church for the reception of Bishop Redwood today. Amongst the cargo of the Wakatipu from Sydney* due to day, is " eliva lang " (P) for Christchnrch. A large number of horses were out ezercifing on the coarse this morning. Amongst the most noticeable was York, who is going strong and improring wonderfully. He looks well for the handicap.
