The New Zealand Shipping Company have advices of the arrival at London from Lyttelton, of the ships Piako, Maraval, Uity of Quebec, and Arethusa, all well.
. The annual general meeting pf the New Zealand Shipping Company, held to-day, was largly attended. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The Chairman contradicted in the strongest terms the charges made by Sir J.. Vogel against the company of not providing sufficient tonnage, and said the charges were without foundation. It was stated that 50 colonial apprentices were now in the company's ships. A dividend was declared at 5 per cent., which with 5 per cent, declared and paid, in Febarary makes 10 per cent, for the year. Messrs C. W. Turner, W. Beeves, and the hon Mr Richardson were elected directors. A vote of thanks was passed to the directors, general manager and staff, and the chairman. At a subsequent meeting of the directors Mr J. L. Coster was elected chairman, and Mr H. PJMiurray. Aynsley, deputy chairman for tn^ear.
