Dennis, alias Keith McEae, charged with forgery in Victoria, waa remanded, pending the arrival of a warrant. Mr J. Stoney, lately of the Thames, to-day commenced his duties as Clerk of the City Police Court, vice Mr James i transferred to Wellington. It is stated that the Eev. Mr Stewart will go home early next year on a 12 months' leave of absence from Knos j Church; this will enable him to be present at the meeting of the General Asembly in Scotland, and also to attend the Pan Presbyterian Conference in Phila-, delphia. , '>":'.'
