, Monday. ~ Mr Montague PymY Harbour Board reserve sale had the following result :— Castle street, section 68; £18, to E. Phillips; No. 47, £23, J. Findlay ; No. 56, £26, J. Findlay; No. 5.8, £30 ; No. 54, £40; No 55, £50; No 52, £60 -to Martin and Watson. No 51, £75—to .J. L. Clarke. No 59, £40—to Martiu and Watson. Anderson's Bay road section : No 13, £12 19s—to Brown, Ewing and Co.; No 14, £12 19s—to the same. Crawford street section :■' No 26, £45—to E. Phillips; No 15, £2 10s—to the same. A number of sections in the townships were offered to-day by the ; auctioneers ; the prices were very low. The Supreme Court to-day wasoccu-, pied with a number of bankruptcy cases In the District Court the case Driscoll v. the City of Dunedin, a claim for damage sustained through the diversion . of a water channel, was discontinued. The evidence was the same as that in East and M'Carthy, in' which the plaintiffs were unsuccessful. Mr James Black, J.P., an old and respected citizen, died at his residence, London street, Dunedin, on Saturday, of heart disease. A man named Duncan Douglas was re- , ceived into the hospital* this afternoon, from Port Chalmers. He had beens working at the Observation Point quarry, when a slip took place, causing him to fall a distance of nearly '50 feet. No bones were broken. Jno. Johnstone, whose case was adjourned from Saturday, was this morning fined £25 each for two breaches of the licensing law, or in default three months' imprisonment. Dennis, alias Keith McEae, charged with forgery in Victoria, waa remanded, pending the arrival of a warrant. Mr J. Stoney, lately of the Thames, to-day commenced his duties as Clerk of the City Police Court, vice Mr James i transferred to Wellington. It is stated that the Eev. Mr Stewart will go home early next year on a 12 months' leave of absence from Knos j Church; this will enable him to be present at the meeting of the General Asembly in Scotland, and also to attend the Pan Presbyterian Conference in Phila-, delphia. , '>":'.'
