GISBORNE.
Another Fire,
Tfcisday.
A destructive fire is raging here, five shops have been gutted; partially insured.
Later. The fire broke out this morning about five.
It destroyed the following buildings :— Dugleaux's baker, Smith's shoemaker, Schultz milliner's, Stevenson's storekeeper.
The fire was stopped by a space at the Standard office.
Norwich Union, £400; Hawke's Bay, £100; New Zealand, £100; Standard, £400; Union and National, £500 each.
Stevenson's insurance is subject to a reduction of some hundreds in consequence of stock having been reduced.
