NOTICES OF MOTION.
The ( following notices of motion were in the notice of motion book 1:— Cr Thorburn to more—" That the sum of £200 be appropriated for the formation of the bridle track between Hastings and Tairua harbor." Gr Thorbarn to more—"That the sum of £ICD be appropriated fora sleigh track in connection with the Tararu road." Cr Carpenter to more—" That the snnt of £230 be appropriated for the purpose of subsidising the Parawai Highway Board under the 190 th' clause of the Counties' Act, the said sum of, £23Q to be applied to the following works in the proportions stated:—Making Mountsea road, £80; Grafton road, £60; Reservoir road, £50; O'Keefe's road, £4Q". ' (Dr Deeble to more—" That' Cr Greenville be elected a member of the Water* race Committee." i Cr Greenville to move—"That Cr Deeble be elected a member of the Finance Committee." J j I Gr Carpenter to move—" That the County Surveyor be instructed to report upon the condition of the main road in the Parawai riding irom the bridge over the Hapo Creek to Stevens' farm on the Kauranga creek, and furnish an estimate of the probable cost of repairing and forming it, including necessary alterations to cutting through Kewi's Hill, and that the Board of Works be empowered to act upon such report and estimate." Cr Greenville to move—" That the sum of £65 be appropriated for the purpose of forming and mullocking Hill street from St. Patrick's road to Kaiaka road."
Cr Greenville to more—" That the mm of £15 be appropriated for the purpose of making and cutting road to connect Lowe and party's claim with Hill strtst." Cr Peeble moved the notice of motion standing in his name—" That the sum of £50 be appropriated for the cutting through the hill from Hape Koad to Richmond street, or such sum as it may requite."
I Cr Porter to more—" That in Tiew of the termination of the agreement in re the maintenance of the U.P.A. pumps, and the probable stoppage of these works on or after the Ist February proximo, if other arrangements are not made; it is imperative that, should this Council consider it expedient in the public interests to make . proposal for continuing the said pumping operations for any period beyond that date, the sale and absolute control of all matters whatsoever in conneotion with the necessary expenditure be'vested in the said Council and Borough Council! " And contingent upon the foregoing resolution being adopted :—" That a special meeting of the- Council be convened on the 23rd- cf January inst. to consider all matters in connection with the U.P.A. securities and the position of the Council i in relation thereto, and that such matters be considered in committee of the whole Council."
