TARABU SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes at the' Tararu School took place today. Amongst those present were the' Keys. Lush and Neil), Mr Thorburn, Chairn)an of Tararu Committee, Mr Steadman, j Phillips, ■ Mrs Eraser and I/party, Mrs Wilson, Mrs Steadman, Mrs Mills and several others. The "classes met' at 11* a.m^-and were'jtnarshalled into their, places by their respective teachers. The proceedin&s were opened.by Mr Halli\<me\\ reading the report of the school, in wkich he remarked "that although there had been but; a small increase in quantity, there had;been a marked advance in the Quality of the pupils'attending the school. He likewise adverted,to the exceedingly uncertain staff of teachers he had been compelled to work with, no fewer than nine changes having taken place within the. year. The prizes were then distributed to successful pupils by Mrs Fraser,. who had kindly acttd as judge' of needlework. The highest honors of the'school were- awarded to Peter Steele. 'Eevs. Lush and Neil briefly' addressed the pupils,;; followed by Messrs Thorburn and Steadman; who proposed three t cufeer3 for Mr Halliwell, and the'"donors of .the prizes.'* The proceedings terminated with "My own New Zealand Home," and " God Save the Queen;" sung by the pupils.; J
