PARAWAI SCHOOL.
. The breaking up for the holidays of the above school took place yesterday. There were between two knd/lhwe. hundred children present, besides a> number of , parents and; friends. Mr Spenoer, Chairman of the School Committee, occupied the chair, and after a few introductory
remarks the prizes were distributed by Mrs Spencer. The following is the prize list:—sth Class: Catherine Bowe, Arthur Cooper, J?. LeManquais, Louis Penk, Annie Curtis. 4th Class : Maria Garner, Isabella Landy, Arthur Brown. 3rd Class: Boberfc Miller, William Scott, Alice Onyon, Bessie Hansen, Annie "Wallace, John Hansen, Henry Burningham. 2nd Class: David Dal ton, Austin Allom, Mary Savage, William Wallace, Henry Curtis, Thos. Smith, William Smith, William Dutton, Allen Veale, Emily Morgan, Laura Hansen. Certificates of merit were awarded to Catherine Eowe, John Hansen, and Elizabeth Hansen. The Eev. S. J. Neill addressed a few remarks to the children, and after the singing of the National Anthem the proceedings terminated, each pupil being presented with a bag of good things.
