The City of New York, with the London mails of October 10th, Bailed from San Francisco for Auckland on the 28th ultimo, due date. The Zealandia, from Auckland on the 12th ult., arrived at San Francisoo on the 6th inst., two days in advance of due date. ■
Next Monday (11th) is proclaimed a Customs holiday throughout the colony by His Excellency the Governor.
; Williams' barque, the Cazlothi, from Newcastle, with a cargo of over four hundred tons of coals, went ashore on Lighthouse Point while beating into Wellington Heads this morning with flood tide. A heavy north-west gale is blowing and seas are washing over the vessel. It is expected she will become a total wreck. By permission of the Government the Stella will leave for the wreck at two o'clock. No lives lost. The insurances are:—£2oo in the Globe on the hull; £500 on hull and £500 on the cargo in the Victoria.
