CRICKET.
The opening cricket match of the' Union Cricket Club took place at Farawai Gar: dens yesterday, and notwithstanding that the ground was wet there was a good attendance of players. Sides were picked by Messrs McMillan (Captain) and McManus. McManus' side first took the bat, bat the effectire bowling of McMillan made the wicketa fall rapidly for the score of 19. McMillan's side than went in, but the only decent scores made were Me Millan (not out) 13, and McLirer 5. Clark's bowling was fair, and he took four of the wickets. In the second innings McManus' side made 18 and McMillan's 46, the latter contributing 23 to the total. The following ate the scores:— Fibsi Iraiireß. MCMACTJS' BIDI.
