Volunteer Inspection.
NAVAL BRIGADE.
The monthly inspection of this fine corps took place at the Naval Hall last evening, there being the splendid muster of 131; including 15 bandsmen /and 5 officers. Major Withers was the inspecing officer, he being accompanied by Major Murray. After the company had been proved and the customary inspection of arms gone throvgh, Lieuts. Brown and Lawless were examined concerning their efficiency, and the Major expressed himself highly pleased. He s>lso stated that it had afforded him much pleasure to forward Major Murray's highly favorable report of the last inspection to Welling* ton, and eulogised them as the belt naval corps he had seen in New Zealand.!
Several prizes were then awarded, and a march out took place, the company being headed by its fine band.
