MOANATAIRI.

Yesterday the manager stopped the cross-cut, which has been driven 80 cdd feet from the south side of the tunnel in the hope of picking up the Point Eussell reef, and a start is to be made at crosscutting the country to the north of the tunnel. Although the reef in the Point Eussell winze has a slight underlie south, the manager thinks that between the bottom of the winze and the. back of the tunnel it changes its underlie, and would then be picked up by the north cross-cut. It will be remembered that some time ago a reef was cut in the tunnel, a trial from which gave an encouraging result. The manager is now pushing on the north cross-cat at the 80 feet level, for the purpose of picking this up. It is known as the Wo. 2 lode, being the second rein of quartz cut in the tunnel east of the slide.
