Post v. Chronicle Libel Case. The libel action brought by Blandell Bros, against Gardner of thfe Cliron'cle is now being argued before the Chief Justice and Judge Richmond. Mr Travers for plaintiffs ; the Attorney-General and Mr Edwards for defendant. The AUorneyGeneral has raised a demurrer, on the ground that the matter complained of as libellous does not admit of the interpretation put upon it. Later, ,; ..;-- .»"'■ After the argument on demurrer in the libel action between the Post and Chronicle, the Court said the demurrer raised by Mr Stout must'be overated with costs oa both grounds. Leavj to appeal was granted, notice to be given witMn a week, and leave to plead within, fourteen days if the appeal should be abandoned.

The Government have determined to sell the preset Court-house oa Lambton Quay, and with th.c money they intend to erect a new brick and far more capacious building on the reclaimed land.
