MOANATAIRI.
The tunnel has been" extended 12 feet during the week, and a cross-cut started from the end for the purpose of intersecting the reef. There is nothing new other than what is incorporated in the mine manager's weekly report, which we give below:—l beg to inform you that main tunnel is now extended 51 feet beyond Point Russell winze. I have now suspended driving, and started a cross-out 90 feet from end to. intersect the reef. This has been laid off at a suitable angle for the horse to work trucks. During past week 12 feet have been driven in tunnel, and 12 feet in south cross-cut. There is no change to report in Point Russell winze. We have been timbering up for the last day or two. In driving west at 150 feet level No. 9 reef is; four feet thick, and hard stone showing, colors of gold. Good progress is being made in north cross-cut to intersect No. 2 reef. This should be met with in anotherweek.^ The winze sinking between two slides is down 55 feet. The reef is two feet thick, and payable stuff. All our stopes are without change to notice, and are producing the usual average crushing stuff.—l am, &c, Robebt Comeb.
