Some days ago Mr Brown, editor of the Kumara Times, issued a writ against Father Honneberry for slander, damagei

£1000, but it was not served in hopes that Father Hcnnebeiry would retract. To-day Brown's solicitors received an extraordinary letter, covering teu sheets of paper, threatening that if the action was proceeded with the police would be at Brown's door. Mr Brown has instructed his solicitors to serve the writ at once.
