The steamer Wallace was towed in by the steamer Murray, Rent from Nelson. The "Wallace left Kelson on Tuesday, and on Wednesday morning, when about 25 miles north-east cf St. Stevens' Island found the paddle shaft injured. Disconnected it and tried to proceed with one engine, and afterwards by sail, and got within four miles of Wanganui heads and dropped anchor. Signalled for assistance* and rode easily at anchor. The Wallace will go back to Kelson for repairs.
