The Races.

Cornet wes scratched. Bourbaki bolted ac 'oss the coarse, throwing the jockey. Afer two false starts the horses got away. Redeemer and Gazelle leading, Te Tewaka and Chrrlty Girl ii close attendance, and passed the st.iiid the first time in a cluster. Gaadle ran into the first place on ascending the hill, and was joined by Redeemer, Emblem, and Charity Girl. A clo .c ajd exciling race home resulted in a v':c'.ory for Redeemer by a short h?ad.—Cup, CO soys; 2 miles: Resolution (9sl4lbs), 1; Queen Vale (Bst 2lb). 2; Luna (Bsi), 3. Queen Yale made tae running at first, with Resolution second. Luna joined the latter near the graud stand- but was out-paced, the leading pair keeping the same position till about 100 yards from home, when the Queen made an effort, but failed, Resolution winning, hard held, b/ a length. The two-y^a? oldi were dispatched af the first aitempt, with a capiial s'art. The favorite at once rushed to the front, hotly pursued by Snowstorm and Chpnticlcer. She Wado all the running, and won rather easily at the finish by a length from Snowstorm. Chanticleer was bea+en by a length and ahalf for second place.
