Thames Valley Railway.

, -His Worship the Mayor, as Chairman of the Thames Railway Conference, on the Bth of this month wrote to Hon. the Minister of Public Works, calling attention to the resolutions passed at the meeting re the question, held at Hamilton, and pointing out that it was absolutely necessary that the views of the Govern* ment should be known upon, several points—such at if the Government were prepared to construct the line, or increase the amount of guarantee, or support or introduce an Act during next session of the Assembly offering such terms as would induce a company or private capitalists to undertake the con* struction of the line. Having received as a reply to the above letter only an acknowledgment of its receipt, Dr. Kilgour telegraphed yesterday to the Hon. J. Macandrew for s reply to the letter, and received this morning the following telegram :—
