Harbor Board.
A special meeting of the Thames Harbor Board, for the purpose of arranging for the reception of the rice-regal party, was held at the Council Chambers today. There were present—Mr Davies (Chairman), His Worship the Mayor, Messrs Price, Mennie, and Wilson.
The Mayor explained what steps the Borough Council had taken at their meeting. He said that it would be necessary for the Board to employ a steamer to bring the party ashore, as they were coming down in the Nymphe, which could not come within two or three miles of the wharf. They might also erect a green arch at the far end of the wharf, and present an address. The Chairman and Meisrs Mennie and Price were then elected a committee to draw up an address, and act in unison with the other committees.
Mr Dean said it was not yet decided when the Gorernor would come down, but he bad been informed by Mr- Sheehan that he would come down on Wednesday or Thursday, The Board then adjourned, to meet at 10.30 to-morrow.
