Hospital Sunday.

Yesterday was what is known as "Hospital Sunday," namely the day set :apart by the various Christian churche? and chapels for a collection in aid of the funds of that deserving institution the Thames Hospital. In most instances the collections yesterday were slightly less than on the previous year, but the aggregate forms a good sum, which will be a welcome addition to the funds. The following are the amounts collected :—

£49 2 5 Tie collection at St. Francis* Roman Catholic Church would have been larger, it is believed, but for the fact that the Rev. Father Chastagnon did. not receive the circular apprising bin of the collection in time to announce it from the altar on the previous Sunday. The Congregational Church collection is this year a few shillings more than last year's, which was £5 2s 6d. The vmounts received from some we could not obtain in consequence of to-day being a holiday.
