Captain Fbaseb returned from Te Aroha to-day, where he has been for two days past arranging with the Natives for tho land to be taken for the new road, connecting the Aroha with the Waikato and Piako road. We are glad to be able to say that Captain Fraser has succeeded in making satisfactory terms, the details of which have been laid before the Council at their meeting to-day. Captain Fraser had a difficult and delicate piece of work, but he has proved himself an able diplomatist in Maori affairs. Wo have been requested to withhold some particulars which have been furnished, but the public interest centres in the fact which we are able to announce, that the mission Captain Fraser undertook .ia tho interest of the County has been accomplished. Mr J. R. Guilding acted as intepreter during the negotiations.
