INTERPRETATIONS OF THE PROPHECIES OF DANIEL AND ZECHARIAH.
Some interesting information respecting the political future was given by the Her. M. Baxter at the Association Hall, Manchester, in the course of his interpretations of some of the prophecies in the books of Daniel and Zechariah. After explaining that the exploits of Alexander the Great are to be eclipsed and outvied by those of the great Antichrist, whose coming is close at hand, the reverend gentleman gave it as his opinion that Prince Jiromo Napoleon seems the most likely, by all his antecedents and qualifications to become this great Antichrist. Prince Louis Napoleon, the young Prince, will rery likely come to the throne by Ultramontane influences, backed by the ex-Empress Eugenic, and the deadly wound of the Napoleonic dynasty will begin to be healed by its restoration under him. After it has been in existence some little time, and the two kingdoms are , allied together which formed Casar Augustus' ltoman Empire (their alliance arising out of the present war and another which is to take place between Germany and France) then will the great Antichrist make his appearance. His sudden deration will be due to democratic, socialist and communist influences. If Cardinal Lucicn Bonaparte becomes the next Pope, it will tend to the realisation of prophesy as thus explained; for it is reasonable to suppose that it will be, a Napoleon who will be Pope at the time, and by a curious coincidence Cardinal Lucien Bonaparte is most likely to be the sue* cessor of the present Pope. Prince Jerome l^apdieon (Antichrist) has, according to Mr Baxter, " all his work cut put before him." He is to make a seven years' covenant with the Jews, and in the middle of the seren years, as the last half approaches, he is to go up and surround Jerusalem. The battle of Armageddon will ensue, the horses will be struck with blindness and their riders with madness, and there will be such a mass of dead bodies that it will take seren years to bury them.—Pall Mall Gazette.
