Cricket.—Australians v. Wellington.
The Wellington Twenty-two were all out at the finish for 91, and the Australians had fire wickets down for 93. The weather was splendid. Mr Marshall, the well-known sculptor, goes to Auckland in "the Hinemoa with the rest of Sir George Grey's party. The racing privileges in connection with the Wellington Jockey Club race meeting were sold to-day, and realised nearly £400. The guvas sold for £280; publicans' booths, £83; refreshment stalls and stables, £40. Over three thousand pounds were collected in annuities at the Custom House yesterday. Opawa and Skyblue hare been scratched for the Wellington Cup. This day. For the cricket the weather was favorable. Play commenced at 12.15. Meagre attendance on the ground.
