It is understood that Sir Qeo. Grey has invited Mr William HutcHsor, late Mayor of Wellington, to contest the- seat to be vacated by Mr Bunny in Wairarapa. It is said be would meet with the support of the local press, and a large proportion of the electors of Greymouth. A movement is being initiated to indnce Sir* George Grey tojcontest tbe seat vacated by Mr Traveri after his Return from Waikato.
Mr Bright, who has been delivering several lectures here, lectured in the theatre last nigbt. The building was crammed.
The Court of Appeal opened to-day. Saturday. The Wesleyan Conference continued its sitting to day. The income of the Church Extension Fund for the past year has been £1311.
