The crushing of 9c wt of /specimens (about 401bs of which was stained last night) was completed at the Moanatairi battery this afternoon for tie first-class yield of 582 ounces sdwt» retorted gold, which is quite up to expectations. The gold was melted at the Bank of Hew Zealand and reduced to two. fine ingots weighing 5770zs sdwts. The loss is tkus only 4ozs, which is considerably underone per cent., and reflects credit on the treatment of the amalgam at the battery.
